Your next discovery
What if your next catch had a name?
In Pêchedex, you can choose a species missing from your collection as your next goal. A simple way to give your trips direction without turning fishing into a race for results.
Start with your collection
Open your logbook and look at the species you have already encountered and those still to discover. In the details of a catalogue species you have not caught, choose “next species”. It becomes your personal goal.
You can change your goal by selecting another card. The new choice replaces the previous one after confirmation; your saved catches stay the same.
A direction, not a promise
Your goal appears in the logbook. It helps you find the species you would like to encounter. Pêchedex does not predict where or when you will catch it: weather, local rules, the season and luck still play a part.
You can keep adding all your catches, including other species. Every trip keeps its place in your history.
The encounter completes the goal
When you record a catch of your chosen species with its photo and date, the goal is marked as complete. If it is your first catch of that species, it also joins your discovered species. You can then choose a new species to look for.
You enter the species name yourself; Pêchedex does not identify it automatically from the photo. Take time to check an uncertain identification.
Discovery starts outdoors
Choose a species that motivates you, then record your catches as they really happened. Your goal is a personal reference, not a spot recommendation or a guarantee of a catch. Before each trip, check the fishing rules for the species and location.
